Volunteers are the heart and soul of hospice and we are very grateful for your interest in volunteering. Volunteers are needed at two different times in the development of the hospice: to help with community fundraising events, and then, once the hospice is open, to staff a wide range of positions that run the day to day activities of the hospice.

Community Fundraising Volunteer Opportunities for 2026:

● Vibrant Visions discussion series with The Elora Centre for The Arts, Spring/Fall 2026

● Curl for a Cause at Fergus Curling Club, March 2026

● Lions Home Show, May 2026

● Golf Tournament at Pike Lake Golf Club, Oct 1, 2026

More events will be announced as our volunteer needs are confirmed.

Some of these events have additional activities such as silent auctions, door prizes, raffles, meals, entertainment, etc. many of which only happen with the help of volunteers.

Volunteer Positions at Residential Hospice

It really does take a village to run a hospice. When we are about 6 months from our opening date, we will put out a call for in-hospice applications. At that time, some positions will require a food handling certification and/or the Hospice Palliative Care Ontario Volunteer Training Program.

Some of the key volunteer positions include:

● Reception/administration

● Patient and family support

● Kitchen and food prep support

● Laundry, gardening, managing supplies, donations, and more
