The Aboyne Rural Hospice is located on Treaty 4 (Haldimand Tract) lands along the Grand River, within the traditional territories of the Anishinaabe (Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation) and the Haudenosaunee (Six Nations of the Grand River). We recognize and honour the longstanding relationship Indigenous communities have with this land, and their ongoing presence, contributions and teachings. As an organization rooted in this community, we acknowledge our shared responsibility to care for this land and to support reconciliation. We are committed to ongoing learning, reflecting on our role in history, and taking meaningful actions that foster respect, understanding, and collaboration with the nations whose ancestors have cared for these lands since time immemorial.
We carry this commitment forward through caring, learning, sharing, teaching, and building respectful relationships.
